St Neots Community College is a thriving school for ICT development. The College network is extensive; the college boasts seven main computer suites in addition to the facilities in the sixth form centre. Pupils have access to our curriculum network and Internet facilities both in and out of lesson times. The Maths department have interactive whiteboards in each of their classrooms. These whiteboards are at the cutting edge of technological teaching and provide for fast paced learning. We are seeking to expand this exciting development into other areas of the school. During the summer holidays of 2004, we migrated our ICT systems to the Cambridgeshire County Network, bringing to the college the benefits of broadband connectivity. At the same time, we undertook an extensive upgrade of the curriculum network, which is now running the latest operating systems and software, to ensure our students are fully prepared for life after school, either in the workplace or in higher education. |
